When we are in Michigan City in the summer, this is a fun outdoor dining spot. They have a pretty large menu of appetizers, sandwiches and seafood. The large but unremarkable salad was $6.99. A salad size plate of fried oysters was $10.99 - a bit much for a small plate. There are lots of sandwiches in the $8-$10 price range. Good selection of beer and foo-foo drinks. A loud siren goes off every 15 or 20 minutes signaling the spinning of the rotating railroad bridge. It's mildly entertaining. If you have a problem with stairs, don't go. The bathrooms are down a steep flight of wooden stairs. The service was pleasant but at $78 for 3 people including 4 beers and tip, I think it is kind of pricey. We'll go back because we love sitting at a waterside table and watching the river traffic.

Fun atmosphere, amazing coconut shrimp and pulled pork and the brisket was outstanding. Just a fun time after a day on the lake. You can enjoy a game of bags while you wait for your food.

Bridges was satisfying but not the first time. The spinach artichoke chip dip appetizer was great. However, when I asked what was on the Bridges steak sandwich the waitress accidentally left out the fact that there was worcestershire sauce on the sandwich. I had to order a second sandwich after I couldn't eat the steak sandwich. I got a very good chicken strip sandwich. The whole meal took a long time. While waiting you got to look at the river not making the whole thing bad, and the food was good once you got what you wanted.

I first learned about Bridges last week during the Chili Tasting in Michigan City. Stopped in to check it out yesterday. Had cream of broccoli soup which was average. And a grilled ham and cheese. It had a great combo of grilled onions and a spicy mustard that worked well. I like the funkiness of the place and the enthusiasm of one of the girls who was cooking. Not a bad choice this time of year.

Bridges is this funky little joint near a moving Amtrak bridge in Michigan City that my family and I found our first time here. I would definitely recommend bringing kids and/or a group here.

The wait time & service was hard to get over. On a Monday night at 7:00 one would not expect to have to wait over an hour for food to be delivered. The mahi mahi was unimaginative but grilled cheese with tomato sandwich delivered what a young individual needed for satisfaction. Wish the food would have been better. The overall dining was unimpressive.

I adore this restaurant. Waits in the summer can be up to an hour, but there is an amazing bar area and a place to corn hole/beanbags to pass the time. Drinks at the bar are delicious, and the single bartender works his butt off. The Falling Off The Top Shelf Margarita is very boozy and very tasty. Most of their drink menu is very good. A lot of the food is fried but done well. I've only ever ordered from the appetizer and seafood menu, because why would you go to an adorable, outdoor, dockside seafood place and get a hummus wrap? The fried mushrooms and fried clams are great for appetizers, and the fried perch is a delicious entree. Absolutely try the sweet potato fries and secret sauce for your side. This place has great ambiance between the canal and train bridge. Don't let other reviewers worry you, it's not a loud place and your meal won't be ruined by passing boats and trains. Their big picnic tables can easily accommodate 6 and squeeze in 8.

They were very busy and understaffed. My first drink, which a friend suggested, was really good- I unfortunately cant remember the name but it was fruity. Sorry! My second drink was a long islad iced tea- definitely didnt taste right to me I think the bartended left something out. He was really frazzled, he was sort of working the bar and also seating people and also kind of waiting tables? I dont know what the deal was. The experience would have probably been better if there was more staff. The waitress was nice but kept forgetting to bring things when requested. The table tried three apps- the coconut shrimp, fried asparagus, and mozzarella tomato bread. Personally I hated the asparagus, but I am biased. others enjoyed it. the coconut shrimp was okay, i think the breading was blah but the dipping sauce was good! Like the mozzarella tomato bread a lot, but they serve it as four giant slices, and we had to cut the giant slices up to share it. I ordered the mahi mahi plate. It was ok, kind of bland tbh. The coleslaw oddly was the most complemented thing at the table. Delicious coleslaw. Another big complaint-the noise! Its such a pretty location, but there are constant blaring noises from the boats and the bridge. I know that is not their fault, they cant control the noise, but I would not suggest bringing sensitive kids.

5 stars, but with some complaints. The salmon burger was hands down amazing! I added spring mix, and it was just perfect! The fries, were a close second too. The drink prices though?? I ordered a Long Island Iced tea thinking I would get the normal full glass, and got something a lot smaller. For 8$ I was slightly disappointed. It was delicious, but I had hoped for more. My Girlfriend got a wrap, and although I forget what she ordered I honestly would have been fine eating hers as well.. Next time maybe we can come here and not get completely drenched in the rain, having to sit outside because the inside was full... Overall, very impressed.

Place is great!! Right by the water, you can see the boats going by. Excellent atmosphere. Outside bar, great music and seating. Food was great and drinks were fantastic!! Definitely will go again when back this way!!

First time here, it is a little on the high side as far as prices go but not too bad. I got the burger and fries asparagus, both were very good. The marinade that they use for the burgers is just amazing!

First time here...not bad...the mixed drinks are great according to the people that were drinking. Ordered the fried asparagus...good!! I ordered the steak sandwich, not bad...my wife had a shrimp wrap..she said it wasn't bad but she wouldn't order it again. We would go back to try other things on the menu.

Any place that creates a play place for kids is tops in my book. Seriously, you can dismiss your kids to the sand lot and recall them when food arrives. How good is that? The wraps are good, the beer list is diverse and service fine. Good mix of families, couples and young adults in a lively outdoor deck setting.

Great atmosphere...but that's where it stops. Burgers were tasty as well as the shrimp po boy, but i ordered a salad instead of fries with my undercooked crab cakes. The meals were delivered and I still didn't have my salad. When I asked to replace the salad with fries the server walked off before I finished my sentence. I was charged for both the salad and the fry basket. Management informed me I should have asked for the salad to be brought before the meal. Ok...but I didn't ask for it to be brought after the entree. I paid for both.

I actually read the reviews before deciding to go here, so I was shocked at how horrible the food was. I ordered the veggie hummus wrap. The hummus both tasted and looked like it came from the grocery store . The veggies were nothing special either; raw, and not a big variety in it. I was hoping they were at least grilled. The tortilla was just a regular burrito tortilla. My boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich. He said the steak was tough, and not a whole lot of flavor. For $11 or $12 dollars, expected better. They weren't expensive, but not cheap either. For what they charge, one would expect better quality.

I have been coming To Bridges for years, since the first time it opened. Every year it reopens I am more impressed. Its cozy tucked away location is ideal. Located right on the water need Michigan City harbor, you feel like you have the best of both worlds. The staff is amazing. All of the servers and bartenders know their menu, cocktails, beer selection and seem to vibe like a family. Great beer selection. They feature a lot of local breweries like Green Bush and also have a extensive craft beer selection from arias the country. Great signature cocktails and specials as well. The food is amazing. The hummus and coconut shrimp are my favorite appetizers. For entrees I usually get the perch which is perfect every time. Te brisket sandwich is amazing. Gyro wrap is wonderful as well. Pretty much you can order anything on his menu and you won't be let down. Sweet potato fries are a must!! Also, side note there is a cute little inn located in the property so you can even stay in a cozy B&B next door! Bridges, you're the jam.

Fantastic food, and a wonderful outdoor experience. Very friendly staff. Drink selection is broad and has very unique names to draw attention. There is usually a bit of a wait, but it is to be expected with great service.

Nice location, decent food. A little to much on the greasy side for me. I'm not much of a seafood person. I would however eat here again, the location, outdoor seating, and the kids can play in the sand while food is being prepared makes it ideal for me.

This is it for locally owned with a passion for flavor and character. Sweet potato fries, home-made sauce and a craft brew - all a must. Rustic and excellent. Playground to entertain kids while adults enjoy the view of old bridges from the patio.

I just read Eddie P's review. I was there today for lunch as well. Our bill for a family of four was $52 which I thought was okay for sandwiches and sodas. His group of 8 must have had alcoholic beverages to tally $160. The food is consistently fresh and made of high quality ingredients. I really enjoyed my Thai wrap I agree with Eddie that the bearded host is rude. He mishandled a request we had today and it was apparent that he knows nothing about customer service. There was a line to get a table today. They were missing a few tables that had been removed from the deck. The bearded host told us they had a table shortage because they needed the space for a band who was playing this evening. My husband and I both thought it was bad business to remove tables when the space wasn't going to be used until much later. We had to eat inside because there were no outside tables available. Bridges isn't the kind of place where you want to sit inside. Ever. You go there to be outdoors and enjoy views of the bridge and water.

I have been a patron of Bridges since it has opened, and it sure has come a long way! I recently came for the first time this summer and was presently surprised by some new offerings on the menu. They now have a vegan/vegetarian section! I had the portabello wrap with my usual sweet potato fries. That wrap was so good and refreshing! The marinated mushrooms were so tasty and complemented the balsamic vinaigrette that is in it perfectly! My mother, who isn't a vegetarian ordered one as well and loved it. Bridges is a perfect place to go and have a nice canal-side meal on the patio with a couple drinks and watch the boats go by. The staff gets busy, but be patient, they are the nicest people!

Awesome and cool named drinks such as The Naughty Palmer, Opama Care to name a few. Stop in for a delicious drink (the Naughty Palmer) or check out the Veggie Menu, the Garden burger was to die for.:)

Rude and expensive. Let me delve into details. The problem was with the hipster host who thinks he is allowed to be rude to customers simply because he is dating the owner's daughter. Must be some kind of special inbreeding program for this restaurant with a side of nepotism. Found out the scoop from a fellow worker. The rude host who looks like a Unabomber from hipsterville USA was rude twice to our party. We were escorted to our table and some of the chairs were wet, so we mentioned to the family to not sit because they were wet and I wait for him to clean. As he was cleaning he said to our party, "You'll be fine, it's not like you're gonna melt or anything." Post lunch I was sitting outside and noticed a table who recently just left after paying and new victims, ahem, I mean patrons, were getting ready to sit, the wife stated "Boy that's a lot of food left on the table. I jokingly said to her "that's concerning." We laughed and Mr Hipster came over to clean the table and said aloud "Oh there's not much food here" and in a sarcastic overtone "that IS concerning." Believe me, I'm not a man of violence and he's lucky my daughter was with me because I would've beat his ass with his stupid fixed-gear bike and shaved off that played out hipster beard. But I'll save my personal vendettas for my blog. As far as the food, it's just ok, the only reason we came here was because the reviews online say it's good; although I did question the reviews who stated the staff were rude and disinterested. I just figured they must have had a bad experience; didn't realize I was going to be joining that bandwagon. Price: For 8 people for lunch it was $160, pretty expensive for sandwiches and fried foods. I can eat a Ruth Chris lunch for less than $20. For those who want decent food for a better price, go someplace else; then take the rest of your money you save and buy lotto tickets. The chances of winning will not improve, but at least the staff won't talk back to you.

Two words: Fish. Taco. Fried, of course. Grab a group of friends, ride your bikes along the lakefront, cut over the bridge, past the Pioneer Pier building and lean your bikes right up against the sand box play area of Bridges. Sit outside, along the water. If you are lucky a train or two will go past, feed the ducks, look at the huge fish competing with the ducks for scraps, order the fish taco (try not to think about the fish you just fed), have a cocktail (I recommend the Naughty Palmer), rest a while, then bike the slow route back home. A perfect summer Saturday.

Really unique location. They could do so much more with the food. Watch a couple Diners Drive Ina and Dives. Pick out 4-5 items and improve the menu.. The hamburger was the frozen hockey puck variety, The Chicken Gyros wrap had too big of chunks of tomato and cucumber...no feta, the grilled fish tacos were mushy. Edible but like I said they could do alloy more

Great summer spot! Shorter wait than a couple other places. Friendly staff! Loved the Mediterranean Bruschetta & Feta Salad! Sweet potato fries seemed homemade. Very good! Nice music playing, great atmosphere!

Cute and nice place. Great views. Food is average but good. Beware of the wrap sandwich. They hid a couple toothpicks in them and almost broke my tooth. I will go back.
